Description
Hydroxyprogesterone 250mg Injections – Hydroxyprogesterone 250mg Injections are used in women who are pregnant with a single baby. Also, doctors prescribe this medicine who have delivered a baby too early in the past. This medicine is not used for women who are pregnant with more than one baby (twins, triplets, etc). It is not understood how it serves to prevent preterm births.
How to use:
Before you starting hydroxyprogesterone first read the Patient Information Leaflet if available from your doctor. This medication is given by injection as by your doctor, usually once a week. The injection is given by your doctor or any professional healthcare, either below the skin of your upper arm or into the muscle of your buttocks. You will start taking injections any time from the 16th week within the 20th week of your pregnancy. You’ll still take injections once every week until week 37 of your pregnancy or when your baby is delivered, whichever comes first. Use the injection as exactly your doctor directs you to get the most benefit from it.
Side effects:
- Jaundice
- Swelling in your hands or Ankle
- Nosebleed
- Severe headache
- Weakness
If you feel any of these side effects then consult your doctor as soon as possible.
Precautions:
Before using the medicine tell your doctor if you are allergic to it or if you have any other allergies. Because it may contain inactive ingredients that can cause allergic reactions or other health problems. Share your medical record with your doctor especially if you facing asthma, blood clots, or cancer. If you use this medicine to prevent preterm birth during pregnancy then discuss all benefits and risks with your doctor. This injection does not use after 37 weeks of pregnancy, or after delivery.
