Mupirocin 2% – Mupirocin 2% is an ointment that is basically used for the treatment of skin infections such as impetigo. This medicine belongs to a class of drug is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the growth of bacteria.
How to use:
While you use this ointment read the patient information leaflet carefully. Use this ointment only on the skin. First, clean and dry the affected area then apply a small quantity of ointment to the area as instructed by your doctor, normally 3 times a day. You may cover the healed area with a dressing. Use this medication on regular basis to get the utmost benefit from it. While applying the medicine try to avoid around your eyes, nose, mouth, etc. In case the medicine gets it in your eyes, nose, or mouth, wash it well with plenty of water.
Side effects:
- Burning
- Stinging
- Itching
- Pain
All these are common side effects, so don’t worry about them but incase these side effects trouble you more then consult your doctor.
Precautions:
Before using this cream tell your doctor if you have any allergy to it or any other allergy. May this cream contain inactive ingredients that cause you serval health problems or allergy reactions. Consult to doctor if your vaginal bleeding for unknown causes. While the treatment doesn’t use tobacco because it increases the risk of stroke or blood clotting. During pregnancy using this medicine if you clearly needed otherwise avoid this medicine. Discuss all benefits and risk with your doctor.
